Harp Isles skill tree guide: Research Farming Tips

The Harp Isles skill tree is a species-based progression system. Every species has its own research path, and completing research sections improves that creature’s progression while helping you work toward its Apex form. The system is separate for normal species and subspecies, so unlocking progress on one does not automatically complete the other.

Research requires the correct type of research file. Basic research files support the appropriate lower-category creatures, while advanced research files are intended for higher-category creatures. Before farming, check the research menu and confirm which file type the selected species accepts.

A completed research section provides one Avatar Shard. If you research a species and its subspecies at the same time, each completed section can contribute separately. This makes parallel research a strong long-term strategy when you have enough files and DNA to support multiple trees.

The most practical farming creature depends on your account progress and how quickly you can defeat resource-producing plants. Blurps are a useful starting option because they are accessible and can become more efficient after their own research tree is improved.

Aliorix is a stronger choice for repeated farming once available. Its useful stamina and faster plant-clearing performance make it suitable for gathering Plant Darts and traveling between resource locations. However, a well-researched Blurp can still be competitive for movement-focused farming, so the best option may change as your tree develops.

A species has three item slots, which creates an important carrying decision. Plant Darts are generally harder to obtain because you must locate and defeat Dart Plants. Angel Fern Leaves are common and can be collected across the map. A practical loadout usually prioritizes the harder resource while collecting enough of the common material to complete the next craft.

Basic research files come from two main sources: random discoveries around the map and oven crafting. Searching can provide occasional files without preparation, but crafting gives you a repeatable activity when you have enough ingredients.

For the standard recipe route, gather Plant Darts from Dart Plants and Angel Fern Leaves from Angel Fern plants. The leaves are common, while the darts usually deserve priority in your inventory. A practical collection pattern is to secure two harder-to-obtain darts and one fern, then repeat the loop while an oven is processing the current batch.

Ovens share their cooking data, so changing locations does not create a second independent production queue. You cannot use another oven to bypass the limit of the active batch. Plan your gathering around the existing queue rather than traveling between ovens expecting additional simultaneous crafts.

The oven interface also creates a major vulnerability. While you are navigating the crafting menu, you have little protection from other players. Choose a less exposed location when possible, check your surroundings before opening the interface, and avoid standing in a predictable public route.

Advanced research files follow a similar concept but use a more demanding crafting path. The advanced route includes a Dark Void research vial and a Healing Salve. Healing Salve requires Medic Mushrooms and Moss, with Moss piles reported as particularly useful to search in the Evergreen Forest and Tundra.

Medic Mushrooms can appear across the map but may be harder to find consistently. When you locate one, consider collecting an extra before returning to the shrine. Advanced production is also more restrictive because only one advanced file can be crafted at a time.

The most efficient long-term plan is to research multiple species or subspecies instead of placing every file into one tree immediately. Higher-category creatures may take substantially longer per research file, making parallel progression useful. While one tree is waiting, another can continue advancing toward additional Avatar Shards.

DNA can also be used to purchase research files at a listed cost of 350 DNA each. This is a convenience option, but farming through map discoveries and ovens generally preserves more of your DNA for other progression needs. Use direct purchases when time matters more than resource efficiency.
